The Network of Music Festivals will be present al Fira B!

Last November, at the Trovam fair in Valencia, a meeting took place between the leading teams of that musical fair, of Manresa's Fira Mediterrània, of Vic's Live Music Market (Mercat de Música Viva de Vic) and of Fira B! from the Balearic Islands. The aim of this encounter was to build an alliance of music festivals, with the intention of opening up new markets and consolidating a Mediterranean circuit. In the future, we would like to extend this coordination also to countries like France, Italy or the North of Africa, in order to turn the Mediterranean into an axis of musical exchange.

This Music Festival Network will be presented in the Balearics on Friday 22nd September at 11.30h, at Sa Nostra's cultural centre, within the framework of Fira B! The presentation of this platform will include representatives from each festival, who will explain the exchange programme they are developing and share their will to promote artists across different regions: David Ibáñez (artistic director of Manresa's Fira Mediterrània), Joan Gregori (director of Trovam, the Valencian music festival), Marc Lloret (artistic director of Mercat de Música Viva de Vic) and Francesc M. Rotger (director of the Institut d'Estudis Baleàrics and coordinator of Fira B!) will all be part of the presentation.

Within this context, one of the main novelties of this year's edition of Fira B! is that it will include shows and concerts by artists from Catalonia and Valencia. From Catalonia, we will enjoy the music of Blaumut, Enzel and Bearoid; and also the piece Pares nostres, by Cia. Indòmita. As for Valencia, their participation will include the live concerts of bands L’Emperador and Novembre Elèctric; and the performances Carinyo, by Pérez&Disla, and Síndrhomo, by La Teta Calva.

In the same way, Balearic groups will perform in those regions. In each of these festivals, efforts are made to present the other events in other regions, and in that way producers have all the information they need in order to attend any of these artistic showcases.

This represents the consolidation of an alliance between the most important music festivals of the Mediterranean region, boosting this sector. It is also one more way for the Balearic, Valencian and Catalan governments to cooperate, in order to promote the Catalan language and culture, as they committed to with the Palma Declaration.
