The Ministry of Culture, Participation and Sports at the BIME PRO in Bilbao
The Government of the Balearic Islands has participated again to the BIME PRO through the ILLENC, the first European professional fair for music and digital industry that explores new avenues of income and collaboration through new technologies, video games and marketing. The BIME PRO is a professional event that complements the BIME LIVE festival and is the first European trade fair dedicated to the music industry in Latin America as well, summoning references from their industry.
The Congress lasted from Wednesday 25th to the Friday 27th of October and was held at the Conference and Fairs BEC! Bilbao venue. There were a wide range of activities such as presentations, sessions, special events, etc. BIME PRO connects national and international professionals, provides new knowledge and explores new business models in the digital industries.
The Institut d'Estudis Baleàrics makes it possible for musicians from the Illes Balears to be in this event wich enable them to meet both national and international musicians and this year has agreed on organizing two performances (showcases), scheduled at the closing party of the fair for the groups Bilo and Go Cactus Mallorca. Another group from Mallorca, Maico, also performed thanks to BBVA. These actions give opportunities to promote the bands, but also provide visibility to the Institut d'Estudis Balearics, a fact that is very effective to initiate contacts with new institutions and professionals.
On the other hand, the ILLENC also offers to those artistic professionals who live in the Balearic Islands the option to meet other professionals and present their projects. At the same time, an advert was published at the fair's catalogue and the Institut d'Estudis Balearics was mentioned in the official social media, actions that reinforce the image of the institution.
To encourage the participation of cultural agents in this field, the Institut d'Estudis Balearics opened a deadline for the registration of practitioners who would like to attend, until September the 15th. Joan Roca, Sebastià Rosselló, Álvaro Martínez, Pere Terrassa, Juan Abarca and Carlos Muñoz did register.
In addition, a professional from the Institut d'Estudis Balearics flow to the fair to coordinate the presence of the Balearic Islands artists presence, has provided information about the overseas promotion project, has met with professionals to establish agreements and synergies with institutions in other countries and companies of cultural promotion, and has offered advice to the Balearic Islands professionals who went to the fair.
